A group of Dutchmen consisting of, from left to right: the merchant Albert Bauduin, agent of the Netherlands Trading Society (NHM) and consul in the port city of Nagasaki; his elder brother, the army physician and amateur photographer Toon Bauduin, superintendent of the Yōjōsho hospital and medical training facility there; and their nephew, the army physician Frans de Ruijter, son of their elder sister Angelique de Ruijter-Bauduin.
