The row of houses to its right consisted of, from left to right: the warehouse of the Netherlands Trading Society (NHM) at no. 1; the house of the Dutch army physician and amateur photographer Toon Bauduin, chief medical officer of the Yōjōsho hospital and medical training facility, at no. 2, behind the left flagpole; and the residence of his younger brother and agent of the NHM Albert Bauduin, consul of the Netherlands in the trade port of Nagasaki, at no. 3, with the elevated verandah.
