Description
The Japanese warrior Shigeaki Kubota, also known as Sentarō Kubota, commander of the Japanese troops at the treaty port of Kanagawa with three retainers. Here he can be seen wearing a sleeveless battle coat over a "modern armour", a half mask, and a helmet while holding a baton with tassels used to convey orders on the battlefield. One of the retainers has a straight-headed spear while each of the other two have a glaive. They are dressed in mail jackets and mail hoods, one of which has a metal forehead protector.
